The day ended by piling on the comfy couch for a video. The most requested: a new one on potty training from the Library!

Here are a few of our Cuban '08 pictures. As usual, they are in the reverse order.
Some day I'll learn to put the last picture first. And it's not a great idea
to try to load a batch at once. You will notice the photo does not always match
the caption. Anyway we had fun and to get started, here is a big
guy we met, loose, walking up the side of the road, on our way back to
Havana. No bull!

We were on horseback but who has right of way?


I love so many things about Cuba especially the people who are so ready to interact with any Canadian. But they have a tough life. One day a man asked us if we had any soap! Infrastructure is crumbling to being none existant. But as much as we love the temperature and the low cost of food and hotel rooms, there is no where on a 3 hour car trip to stop and eat. No daily paper. The phone and internet are some days there and somedays not. But the memories of this trip are mostly positive; if only we had a special occasion coming up where we could distribute some of the hand rolled cigars we brought back! Hmmmm.....

Bananas
This farmer (here is a corner of his small house) was proud of his organic farm where he grew bananas, acacados, oranges, grapefruit and corriander.

The Cuban countryside - west

A young hitchhiker showed us a scenic spot on our way to the mountains.




Our hotel and pool was very nice.











Sure I could ride horseback! Hadn 't I been on a horse once when I was 12 and led around a flat field for 5 minutes? Ha! It was more tippy than I remembered and going up hill was not so bad but the down hill were very scary.













We rode past farms and fields of tobacco - so glad I didn't chicken out!

Gonzos make friends where ever they go!















The beach scene was wonderful for shade lovers.

Exercise is never far away with Bruce.














And we celebrated 35 years of marriage while in Cuba.
