In Notre Dame in Paris, this medieval wall was erected by the monks who needed a quieter place to worship as there was so much business being conducted in the church.

The carvings on the door of Notre Dame in Paris were very graphic. As luck would have it, we were there on the only day there was a free tour in English. I was in history heaven!
